A private spaceship is one step closer to launching to the International Space Station. SpaceX's Dragon cargo capsule and Falcon 9 rocket have been assembled in Florida, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted on Saturday.

The two will probably launch in late April on an uncrewed mission to test the Dragon capsule's ability to rendezvous and dock with the station. According to Jeff Foust in The Space Review:

The Dragon will carry some nonessential "demonstration cargo" that will be transferred to the ISS. It will also be loaded with station cargo for return to Earth.

Observers will be watching the launch with bated breath. In the wake of last year's retirement of the US space shuttles, the main means of ferrying supplies to the orbital outpost is Russian Progress cargo ships. Unfortunately, a Progress launch failed last year, temporarily grounding all missions to the station. Dragon would be the first commercial craft to attempt to visit the outpost (take an interactive tour of the Dragon capsule).

Earlier this month, NASA's space station programme manager Mike Suffredini said the Dragon launch would occur no earlier than 20 March. "There are no big problems being worked out but a lot of little things to wrap up," he said. Now software checks have pushed the launch back, probably to late April, Foust reports.

More than twenty-five years ago, I married my wife shortly after she survived a horrific car accident. To date she has endured more than seventy operations (fifty on my watch, so far), the amputation of both legs, and nearly $9 million dollars in medical bills. Through this continuing ordeal, we have had countless hospital stays during birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays ?including Valentine?s Day.

Raising a family and keeping love alive in a marriage with a spouse who is constantly sick or in severe pain is an extreme challenge; one with many casualties.?

The divorce rate in couples with a disability in the family hovers around 90% and relationships with a disability or chronic medical condition face significant pressures on the love holding the marriage together.?

Relationships that endure through these types of challenges seem to all share four characteristics which allow love to transcend the brutal circumstances.?

1. Separate the person from the pain

How do you keep love and passion thriving in a chronic medical catastrophe where the suffering is not limited to a short-term illness or injury??

Different from Alzheimer?s or dementia, marriages impacted by one spouse living with a broken or diseased body while retaining complete cognitive awareness encounter a different set of emotional trials for the marriage. The challenge for the healthy spouse is to maneuver through the minefield of medical issues, attending to each of them, but never losing sight of the suffering person?s heart.?

The challenge for the sick or injured spouse, even from a wheelchair or while in severe chronic pain, is to recognize that matters of the heart, though often less demanding, are just as important (if not more so) as the needs of the body.

3. Love even while hurting?

Everyone hurts at some point; even super models and professional athletes suffer physically at times. Using sickness or feeling bad as an excuse to disconnect from the needs of close relationships sets a horrible and destructive precedent that seems to say, ?I can be focused only on me whenever I feel bad.?

Experience teaches me that life-changing and transcending love abounds when we choose to turn our eyes to others ?particularly (and peculiarly) while carrying great burdens ourselves.?

We cannot escape the relentless difficulties in this life; we do however, have the opportunity to embrace each other, even while in pain, and discover love ?and romance, are not dependent on external circumstances, but instead reside solely in the heart. As the wonderful Rodgers and Hart song stated so well:

My romance doesn?t have to have a moon in the sky
My romance doesn?t need a blue lagoon standing by;
No month of May, no twinkling stars,
No hide away, no soft guitars.

My romance doesn?t need a castle rising in Spain,
Nor a dance to a constantly surprising refrain.

4. See the heart, not ?the chart?

For caregivers I offer this advice: if the love of your life struggles with chronic disease or injury, take a moment to see beyond the medical chart, the broken body and the pain-filled eyes?and connect to the heart of the extraordinary person who captured your heart.

And for those suffering, look deeply into the eyes of the weary soul who looks after you, quietly hold hands together, and bask in the love you both share; a love that is defying the odds.

San Francisco California ? Technology (Spl) Education is proud to present APPy TechInEd, an online educational app sale event where educators and app developers from around the world will share ideas and help shape the future of education app development. This is part of a series of APPy Events that Technology (Spl) Education organizes on Facebook where visitors learn more about apps, interact with developers, and provide promo codes and iTunes Gift Card Giveaways.

WHAT: This event was organized to provide educators an opportunity to interact with developers and influence the development of educational apps. Penelope the Purple Pirate, Pirate Scribblebeard?s Treasure with Oscar & Josephine, Treasure Kai and the Lost Gold of Shark Island, and other apps will go on sale or offered free in support of Educator APPy TechInEd Facebook Event.

Over 76 app developers and 175 apps will be participating in Technology (Spl) Education APPy TechInEd Educator Event February 17th and 18th. This is an educator-only event to exchange ideas & influence future education app development.

WHO: Technology in (Spl) Education Educator APPy Event is sponsored by Mobile Education Store and Operatio Apps who both provide top educational apps.

WHEN: February 17- 18, 2012. The event will be hosted by two Special Education Teachers from Ohio, Morgan Kolis and Melanie Broxterman.

Can't make it to Jadwin for today's national championship final between top-seeded Trinity and second-seeded Princeton? You can watch the matches online at GoPrincetonTigers.TV, or you can follow the official Princeton Twitter feed (@PUTIGERS) for live updates from the Jadwin Courts.

The national final is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m., and it will be played on Courts 1, 3 and 4. The final will be played in three shifts of three matches, so barring any last-second injuries, today's schedule should look like this:

Court 3: #6 Match, Trinity's Vishrab Kotian v. Princeton's Clay Blackiston

If this ends up being the championship schedule, it will feature eight rematches from the 7-2 Trinity home win on Feb. 1. Of those eight matches, Trinity took six, including three by 3-2 scores. Trinity won at 1, 2 and 4 by 3-2 scores, and none were decided by more than four points in the fifth game.

Of the remaining five rematches, Trinity won a 3-1 decision at No. 3 and 3-0 wins at 5 and 8. Princeton won 3-1 at 6 and 3-0 at 7. The No. 9 match will be the lone new match, as Pena has moved into the varsity lineup and will take on Hamada.
